KUCHING: The Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports futsal tournament for the Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah Cup will be held at the Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ak Ningkan Hall, Betong from August 25 to 27.
A total of 24 teams from 12 divisions will compete for the title, comprising 12 teams in the men’s category and 12 teams in the women’s category.
This tournament for under 20 years old players will be played in a group league format are in the early stages.
Betong Division Resident, Friday Anak Belik chaired a committee meeting on the tournament at Betong Division Resident’s Office last Thursday.
Also present were the teams’ representatives from various related departments.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage.
In the previous season, the Kuching Division squad topped the men’s category while Serian Division’s newcomers stole focus of the women’s category.
