SARIKEI: A cobra measuring three feet was caught hiding in the living room of a house in Taman Ixora here yesterday.
Sarikei Fire Station chief, Suna Kaha said a team of firefighters was deployed to the location after they received a distress call from one of the house occupants at 7.52am.
He said they arrived at the scene at 7.56am and took three minutes to capture the poisonous reptile using snake tongs.
Suna added that the snake was later released at a nearby jungle.
He also urged members of the public to contact the department for assistance if they happened to find a snake or other dangerous animals wandering in their areas.
