300 partake in Chilli and Mushroom Polybag Cultivation Programme

KUCHING: A total of 300 participants from Bau area were involved in the Chilli and Mushroom Polybag Cultivation Programme organised by Mas Gading Community College in conjunction with the Tasik Biru Festival.

Opar Assemblyman Dato Ranum Mina, said that programme such Tasik Biru Festival would help to elevate the local economy and promote the local products.

“Apart from that, it is hoped that this programme would also be recognised as an international event and at the same time included in the tourism calender,” said Ranum when officiating at the closing ceremony of Chilli and Mushroom Polybag cultivation programme in conjunction with the Tasik Biru Festival 2017, held in Bau, yesterday.

He also noted that Bau has a lot of attractions especially when it involves nature.  Ranum said Bau has Wind Cave, Fairy Cave, Serikin border market and many others.

“Most of the products here in Bau are from nature itself,” he said.

He also urged the public, especially those residing in Bau to come together and join the festival as a lot of exhibition booths from various government agencies and also private institutions will provide various help and assistance.

Also present was Bau District officer Anielia Siam.
