KUCHING: 31 less fortunate people including a cancer patient received cash donations from the State Astana at Darul Hiusniwarrahmah Taman Hussein Mosque here on Sunday night.
The donations were presented by the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
The recipients were mostly from Kampung Singai Laruh/ Kampung Tupong Baru and Taman Hussein areas.
At the event, Taib also had a breaking of fast dinner with the recipients after the Maghrib prayers.
The programme was organised by Sarawak Islamic Affairs Department (JAIS), State Astana and DarulHiusniwarrahmah Taman Hussein Mosque.
Also present were Taib’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib and Tupong State Assemblyman, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
