KUCHING: A distress call was received by Lawas BOMBA at 11.20 am yesterday regarding a road accident at Jalan Merapok, Lawas.
Following the call, Lawas BOMBA dispatched a team of firemen to the location. Upon arrival at the scene the firemen found out that a 4WD vehicle had rammed into a telecommunication pole which caused the vehicle to burn.
Before the firemen arrived, passers-by had carried the injured driver to safety before he was taken to hospital for treatment.
The firemen then doused the burning vehicle and the operation ended at 12.08pm. The operation was led by Lawas Fire Station chief , Zaki bin Hussin.
