KUCHING: 44 agencies, associations and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) will receive 52 cows worth more than RM300,000 for the upcoming Hari Raya Haji.
The symbolic handing over ceremony was graced by Member of Parliament for Santubong, Dato Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at the Department of Agriculture Animal Quarantine Station at Bako here yesterday.
Junaidi, who is also the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, spoke on the meaning of sacrifice,especially on how it was related to the upcoming National Day onAugust 31.
“Sometimes, it’s easy to forget the sacrifices made by those before us to give us what we have today.
“Therefore, we have to remember and appreciate them as we also have to make sacrifices today for the next generation,” he said.
The minister said it was important to remember history before deciding where to go and that we should be grateful for what had been done by those before our time.
