861,136 ha of land measured to be gazetted accordingly

KUCHING: As of June this year, total of 861,136 hectares of land have been measured to be gazetted under the Bumiputera Communal Reserve under Section 6 of the Land Code in its first stage.

According to Second Minister for Urban Development and Natural Resources Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, out of that number, 677,114 hectares have been gazetted.

He said this while delivering his winding-up speech during the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting here yesterday. “Under the second stage of this programme, the areas under Section 6 will have their lots measured individually.

“Up to now, 21,810 individual lots have been measured and involving an area of 27,407 hectares.

“A total of 9,461 lots – comprising 10,512 hectares – have been issued with land titles under Section 18 of the Land Code,” he said.

Meanwhile, in terms of Resettlement Schemes (SPS) and Village Expansion Schemes (SPK), a total of 46,798 residential lots have been prepared up to 30 June of this year.

“Out of that number, 36,150 lots have already been distributed to those eligible.

“Under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) and the Mid-Term Review of the 11MP, a total of RM194.4 million has been approved to implement 33SPKs and 3 SPSs.

“However, the schemes that have not been approved will be proposed again under the 12thMalaysia Plan (12MP),” he said.
