KUCHING: Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Hamzah and his deputy Datuk Lee Kim Shin
met some tourists at Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV), the venue for this year’s Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) during a final inspection of the venue and facilities, yesterday afternoon.

The tourists were in Kuching for the 20th edition of the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF).

Lee said he and Abdul Karim were at SCV to conduct final inspection of the festival’s venue and facilities.

The Rainforest World Music Festival 2017 will be held from 14 to 16 July. It is an annual event that brings together musicians and bands from all over the world including the interiors of Borneo.

The three afternoons of interactive and educational workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts, followed
by evening performances on the main stage has proven to be a hit with the visitors who packed the festival each year.

There are also a variety of food and drink stalls, an arts and crafts area as well as a
counter for festival memorabilia, Sarawak souvenirs and CDs by the performing artistes, thus contributing to a fun filled, wholesome
festival experience for all. 

It is a world music festival extraodinaire
set against the magnificient backdrop of the legendary Mount Santubong.
