The function was also meant as a farewell gathering for 68 staff members of the department who will be retiring this year.

Acting Director Dr Alvin Chai Lian Kuet in his welcoming speech thanked the recipients of the excellence awards (APC) for their excellent services rendered.

“I would like to call upon all staff members, regardless of ranks to continue to uphold their ethics, integrity and productivity,” he stressed.

To those officers who will be retiring soon, Dr Alvin Chai thanked them for their efforts and contributions rendered throughout the period of their service in the department. “Your service will not be forgotten and I would like to wish all of you a happy retirement and to practice a healthy life style,” he remarked.
