KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) 24-hour service centre has benefited the society a lot through its hotline and WhatsApp reports.

The service centre which was implemented in 2012 has become the most preferable platform for society in any emergency situation especially within DBKU area.

According to DBKU Mayor, Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai, the objective of the services is to assist the society during emergency, to receive reports, and suggestions for improvement.

“The public can contact the 24-hour service centre through their Hotline DBKU at 082-446644 and WhatsApp DBKU at 016-8864466 (implemented since 2016),

“For the emergency response from DBKU, DBKU Patrol team and DBKU Assistance team will instantly go to the location to make investigation and providing early assistance,” Wahap explained during a media visit to the centre at DBKU headquarter, here, yesterday.

DBKU Head of Development and Community Service Department, Rudzaimer Malek said since the establishment of the service centre, DBKU has received various recognitions.

“The number of people using our service especially through hotline and WhatsApp is on the increase, which means we are getting the trust from them and that they need our service.

“We also have 24 CCTVs in certain areas to monitor the traffic as well as the safety of the areas; through these we can also detect those vandalism of public facilities and we can immediately replace with the new ones, or even as an evidence for the accidents occurring on the roads,” he pointed out.
