SRI AMAN: The recent intrusion of a cobra into the compound of the Divsional Dental Department of Sri Aman created a bit of panic among the dental staff at the office. According to the District Civil Defence Force Officer of Sri Aman Capt (PA) Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim the cobra was sighted by some personnel of the department around 10am.
“Upon receiving a phone call about the snake, our Civil Defence Force (APM) of Sri Aman immediately sent three enforcement personnel to the Dental Department to catch the snake. “The three of them took 16 minutes to catch the poisonous snake with the length of 3 feet 6 inches at 10.20am, “ she pointed out. Meanwhile, on the same day, Siti said APM Sri Aman also assisted one senior citizen who face an emergency situation at his residence in the Jalan Belimbing resttlement.
The senior citizen Yeo Guek Boi, 80, had a stroke that led his relatives to contact APM Sri Aman around 8.15am to ask for assistance. “Our personnel on duty quickly responded by sending the victim to emergency ward of Sri Aman District Hospital at 9.09am after giving him first aid at his residence,” she pointed out.
As such Siti hoped the public could respond quickly be calling them (APM Sri Aman District) at 083-320973 if anyone is facing an emergency sistuation at his or her residence in the future.
