APM Mukah ready to face the floods

MUKAH: The Mukah District Civil Defence Force (APM Mukah) is ready for floods in the area.

“We are always ready during this wet season of the  monsoon of  East Asia,” said  Officer-in Charge Capt. Mohd Noor Ini.

The friendly young officer stated this when approached by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday morning.

He disclosed that the force was ever ready to mobilise its women, men and logistics any time now including the logistics available.

“We have one 5-tonne lorry, two 40 horsepower outboard engine boats, an ambulance and a four-wheel-drive vehicle,” he said.

Noor added that the force would deploy 30 members of the force in the first four hours of duty and another 5 to 10 other members later based on the needs.

“We are also visiting  the temporary evacuation centres in Dalat District, Mukah District and Balingian Sub-district as also part of our preparation for MTL,”  added Noor.

He disclosed APM Mukah had a total of 40 members including 16 office staff  located at the Federal Building here.
