SIBU: The Art of Sape 2.0 2018 organised by Sibu Dayak Sape Club (KSDC) held at Sibu Heritage Centre in Sibu recently was a huge success.
The event with a theme, ‘With Sape, We Unite’ which entered its second edition this year received big support from Borneo Events Entertainment (BEE), Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) and Sibu Heritage Centre.
Assistant Administration officer of STB Visitors Information Centre Siti Nabzah was present to declare open the event. Also in attendance was manager of BEE Justin Teng.
Among the activities held included sape exhibition, sape playing demonstration, sape class, sape busking and sape musical show by members of KSDS.
The sape musical show by members of KSDS headed by its chairman Anthony Abong drew encouraging response from the visitors.
Visitors at the event comprised locals and foreign tourists who also took the opportunity to take photos with sape musical instruments provided by KSDS.
According to Anthony, the event was aimed at promoting KSDS to the public especially the youth.
He said KSDS welcomed those interested to learn in playing sape musical instrument to join the club.
