Assistance given to victims of longhouse fire

MARUDI: Assistant Minister of Local Government and Marudi State Assemblyman, Datu Dr Penguang anak Manggil visited and presented assistance to the fire victims of Rh. Langat Ak Anthony Collin Nanga Majang Kuala Bok yesterday.

The 27-door wooden double-storey longhouse was destroyed in a fire incident on last Wednesday at 10.00am.

From the total, 21-door was completely destroyed 100 percent while another 6-door was safe.

Meanwhile, during the visit, Dr. Datu Dr. Penguang donated RM500 cash for each door involved in the fire. Furthermore, the Special Administrative Officer to Penguang, Ali Imran also presented donation in term of foods and clothes to the victims. 

Accordingly, the Welfare Department also has distributed food supplies. Some of the victims are placed at the SK Bok school hall and some at the St. Anthony hall, Pujut Corner.

“I hope all the fire victims to be patient with the tests and misfortunes that have happened to them,” said Penguang.

Also given assistance were Beluru district office, APM, Fire and Rescue Department and took also part in the visit with were Beluru District Officer, Mohd Rashdan, Counselor, Edward Mendai, SAO, Marliney, Pemanca Enggah, Penghulu Kalang and Headmaster of SK Bok.
