Australian visitors for MBKS mayor

KUCHING:  A  25-member delegation from  Australia  Borneo Exhibition Group  led by Ryan  Rowland yesterday  paid a courtesy visit on Kuching City South Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato James Chan Khay Syn at his office at Padungan here.

Earlier on, before a meeting  session with the Mayor, the delegation visited  the MBKS Historical Gallery located on the ground floor of the MBKS Building. 

Accompanying  them during the visit was  Dato Lim Kian Hock, Chairman of the  STF Heritage Development Committee.

In welcoming the delegation, the Mayor said it was great of Ryan  to lead the delegation and  it was not easy to come every year  without having the enthusiasm and some programmes  going on.

He hoped Ryan could bring in more Australians to visit Kuching.

Speaking to reporters later, Ryan said he would be evaluating the visits and partnership with  Sabah and Sarawak. 

He said the whole  development was based on  not just bringing people here on family pilgrimage but  also to establish cross cultural exchange.

Ryan added that  the Australian Borneo Exhibition Group is building a large gallery of profiles that relate to  families that had resided here.
