Awang Tengah leads S’wak delegation to visit China

HAINAN: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan, yesterday led the delegation from Sarawak to the Hainan Chenhai aquatic Co. Ltd, which operates cage culture farms in Hainan, said a press release yesterday.

Awang Tengah, who is also the Minister for Industrial and Entrepreneur Development and Second Minister for Urban Development and Natural Resources, led the delegation from both ministry for a five-day visit to China where they attended the Memorandum of Agreement for an aquaculture investment project in Sarawak, visiting several aquaculture farms and to meet potential investors from the country.

The visit aims to understand the operation of such farms as Sarawak has the potential to adopt the type of fish farming implemented in China.

The delegation is expected to depart for Wenchang today to visit another farming site. Among those in the delegation are Datuk Haji Naroden bin Haji Majais, the Assistant Minister for Entrepreneur & SME Development and Assistant Minister for E-Commerce Sarawak; Assistant Minister for Industrial Development Sarawak Malcolm Mussen Anak Lamoh and Dr. Wan Lizozman Bin Wan Omar, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources, Sarawak.

Also in the delegation are Hashim bin Haji Bojet, Acting General Manager Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation and Mohd. Nor Topek Julaihi, the Chief Operating Officer, PUSAKA Capital Sdn. Bhd., the press release concluded.
