TOKYO: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan held several meetings with Japanese investors here yesterday.

The meeting discussed investment plans with several companies interested to invest in Sarawak held at the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) office here.

Also present during the visit was Tokyo Halfest organiser Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdullah.

The delegation is expected to attend Halfest Tokyo, the halal food festival to be held at Tokyo Ryutsu Centre today (Nov 27). Awang Tengah heads an entourage from the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development for a threeday working visit to Tokyo.

Members of the entourage included Entrepreneur and Small, Medium Enterprise ( SME ) Development Assistant Minister Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Industries and Investment Assistant Minister Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, permanent secretary to the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Datuk Liaw Soon Eng and Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) acting general manager Hashim Bojet.
