KUCHING: The recent passing away of the second most important person, PBBS deputy president, Awang Perseh Pengiran Abu Bakar, 66, was a big loss to Sarikei Division Football Association (PBBS).

The father of football development from the central zone of Sarawak took his last breath at the Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) on October 4.

PBBS honorary secretary, Abang Zaini Abang Ismail said the condition of the late Awang Perseh since last three weeks ago was critical because of lung and kidney complications. Abang Zaini said his best friend had been undergoing treatment at HUS until his last breath that Wednesday morning.

“We feel a big loss in football in Sarikei Division with his demised. He was the deputy president of PBBS for three terms since 2011 until now,” Abang Zaini said.

According to Abang Zaini, during Awang Perseh’s involvement in football in the area, much progress has been made, including his contributions to Football Association of Sarawak (FAS).
