Baru Bian pays courtesy visit on Abang Jo

KUCHING: A positive spirit between the state and federal government is needed in order for them to work together for the development of the people.

Minister of Works, Baru Bian said many areas under the purview of his ministry that affected the projects in Sarawak, in particular, its infrastructure, schools and hospitals.

“I have conveyed this concern of mine to the Chief Minister as these are the areas that concern a lot of Sarawakians too.

“The Chief Minister is very open and he gave us the assurance that the state is prepared to work with us,” said Baru.

He told reporters this after paying a courtesy call on the Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg at the new State Legislative Assembly building in Petra Jaya, yesterday.

Baru also noted that the courtesy call with the Chief Minister occurred in good spirits without the involvement of politics and for the benefit of the people.

“We must focus on developing the state and the nation for the sake of the people.

“I am glad and happy for the time that was allocated and the positive response from the Chief Minister,” he said.

Also present were Pakatan Harapan Rakyat (PKR) Krian State Assemblyman, Ali Biju, Batu Lintang State Assemblyman, See Chee How and other members of the state’s Pakatan Harapan (PH).
