BCF best platform to educate youngsters on culture of ethnicity in S’wak

SIBU: Borneo Cultural Festival (BCF) is the best platform to educate youngsters on the culture of ethnicity in Sarawak.

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi said the richness of the culture showcased during BCF is not only shown to the tourists but also to the younger generation, providing them with an opportunity to learn about local cultures.

“BCF gives an educational showcasing of our multi-ethnicity in our multi-cultural of society in Sarawak, and Malaysia as a whole. This is unique and we are proud that our diversity is indeed our advantage, the deputy minister said at the opening of Borneo Dayak Cultural Festival (BDCF) Pavilion on Saturday night.

Nanta who is also Member of Parliament for Kapit said that BCF is a very good event, whereas people of different races and ethnicity can gather together to interact.

Dudong State Assemblyman and chairman of Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) Datuk Tiong Thai King and deputy chairlady of SMC Rogayah Jamain were among those present at the event.
