BHR Nature Challenge to be held on 22 October

KUCHING: The Borneo Highland Resort Padawan (BHR) Nature Challenge 2017 will be held on 22 October.

The Padawan Nature Challenge is a successful event as it has been organised for the past 10 years, according to Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Chairman Lo Khere Chiang,

The event, which is part of the State tourism calender and supported by the Ministry of tourism, will help to promote the activity in Padawan area involving nature, adventure, sports and healthy lifestyles to the general public.

“Apart from that, it also helps to bring the economic and social development to the Padawan area,” said Lo in a press conference held at MPP building, 10th Mile, yesterday.

The council is trying to improve the event every year to benefit everyone, and we welcome public suggestions, opinions, and feedbacks, he said.

Meanwhile, BHR Padawan Nature Challenge 2017 organising chairman Bronnie Marshall, the event will give an opportunity for nature lovers and adventurous individuals to be close to mother nature and experience the environmental and adventure tourism aspect of Padawan, including Borneo Highlands Resort.

The BHR Padawan Nature Challenge 2017 will have three categories, the 33km Chairman Challenge (10km of road, 23km jungle trails) for a team of two persons, Batu Panggah 10km Tracking Challenge (a team of two), and 12km Borneo Highland Run open category (both men and women).

Earlier, Magnum ENE (East Malaysia) Sdn Bhd regional manager Liew Kee Chuan presented a cheque for RM40,000 in sponsorship to MPP deputy chairman Dato Ahmad Ibrahim.
