KUCHING: The state government has agreed to amend the Land Code which will be tabled during the next State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting this July, said Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

“The Barisan Nasional (BN) government has heard you clearly and shows that we are ready to hear from the people, especially the community leaders.

“What has been presented during this two-day conference has been very interesting and will be taken into consideration, which will be presented to the government after this,” he said during the closing ceremony of the conference for community leaders on Pemakai Menua and Pulau Galau at Imperial Hotel here yesterday.

He added that a special committee would be studying the findings, whereby recommendations would then be made to the task force.

The two-day conference, which was held from 24 to 25 January this year, was attended by over 400 participants comprising community leaders from all over the state.
