Body appeals for support from local YBs for fund

KAPIT: Kapit Music Society has made an appealed to the local elected people’s representatives, corporate firms and individuals to generously support the society because it is in need of fund.

“There is no money in the account under the previous committee. The newly elected committee has to start all over again to raise fund to run the planned activities. Therefore, we need your generous support to help us. We appeal to the YBs or elected people’s representatives, corporate firms and individuals to generously support the society because it is in acute shortage of fund,” said the newly elected chairperson Chua Bee Hung speaking to pressmen after chairing a committee meeting recently.

She disclosed that the society has planned two activities yearly that need the funding namely the Sarawak Open Men and Women Mandarin Singing Competitions scheduled to be held in Kuching in June and then the Sarawak Boys and Girls Under 18 years old Mandarin Singing Competitions 2018 scheduled in December with Kapit Music Society as the event’s host.

At the committee meeting held recently Chua was elected as the new chairperson of the society. The other line-up of her committee included Tiong Siew Chiong as the vice chairman with Liew Mee Kiong as the secretary assisted by Gilbert Chieng while the treasurer is Chua Mee Ai.

The other committee members are Kong Siew Kim, Lau Pek Yien, Chu Sing Lung, Ting Chen Sian, Yong Peng Sui, Tiong Seng Kan, Ngu Lion Li, Lau Le Hui, Kong Siew Hung and Tiong Leh Kiong respectively.
