KUCHING: Last Friday at 4.56pm Bintangor BOMBA received a call from Corporal Gilbot of Julau Police Station regarding a drowning case at Sg Julau, Bintangor Bazaar.

Following the call, Bintangor BOMBA immediately dispatched eight personnel in a 4WD vehicle led by PBK II Haji Mohammad Bin Mahmud. The operation commander was PPgB Nicholas bin Belulin.

The BOMBA Control Post reported on the third day of the search yesterday which was also participated by the police, Civil Defence Force (APM) and longhouse residents using longboats that at 9am yesterday the SAR team managed to find the body of the drowned victim about 2 kms from where he is believed to have fallen.

The victim’s remains have been handed over to the police for their further actions. With the discovery of the victim’s body the SAR operation ended at 9.25 am, yesterday.
