KUCHING: The body of a man who disappeared in Sungai Undey, Pusa, Betong district about 250km from here on Wednesday was found with several crocodile bite marks at 10.10am yesterday.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman, in a statement, said the body of Bisimilah Rajali, 36, was discovered some 50 metres from where he was reported missing.

He said the body with bite marks on the arms and face was later handed over to the police to be taken to Betong Hospital for post-mortem.

In the 4.00pm incident on Wednesday, Besimilah together with three friends were tying sago palm logs at the river near the Kampung Tambak bridge when he was suddenly attacked by a crocodile before disappearing in the river.

A search operation was mounted by villagers, police, Rela, Fire and Rescue Department and Civil Defence Force personnel but the operation was later called off as it was getting dark.

The search continued at 6am today and the body was found about four hours later.
