MIRI: A car owner at Piasau Garden here lodged a report at a police station here after he discovered a plastic container filled with petrol under his car early yesterday morning. He claimed in his report that the incident has happened trice this week.

The first one was last Tuesday and the second on Thursday and the third yesterday.

Prior to yesterday’s discovery, the man said he was puzzled to find out that the car’s fuel indicator needle always pointed at ‘E’ (empty) even after he has refilled it. He initially thought that the fuel tank may have sprung a leak, so after the second incident on Thursday he took his car to a garage to let a mechanic check but was told that the car fuel tank was not leaking.

However, the mechanic also told him that perhaps someone may have siphoned the fuel in the tank of the car following scratch marks on the cover of the fuel tank.
