Cash incentives for 25 students

MUKAH: Twenty-five students who will be furthering their studies received the one-off education incentives from Tellian Assemblyman, Yussibnosh Balo at Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tellian Branch Servcie Centre here, yesterday.

The incentives were in two categories, namely RM500 each for those who will be pursuing their diploma and higher courses and RM300 for those pursuing a certificate course.

In his speech at the function, Yussibnosh hoped that the recipients of the assistance would use the money wisely which were meant to lighten their parents’ burden.

It is learnt that from January to June this year, the people’s representative has presented such assistance to 53 recipients while last year there were 112 recipients.

He also revealed that from next year onwards the education incentives would be from the Mukah Education Foundation which is expected to be in operation next year.

It is learnt that MEF would be headed by the Head of State as Chairman and Member of Parliament for Mukah, Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Leo Toyad as Deputy Chairman.

The Secretary is Yussibnosh who will be assisted by Mukah Resident, Awang Johari Awang Mustapha with Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datu Len Talif Salleh, as the Treasurer.

The committee members are all Members of Parliament and State Assemblymen in the Mukah Division.
