KUCHING: Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen’s statement proves that he does not want to see the Sarawak Government generates extra revenue for the state. Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) youth wing deputy chief Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said that during the recent State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting, Second State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh explained that the investment was made after looking at the profits the government will gain.

Fazzrudin also pointed out that Chong’s statement that Sarawak people were “kept in the dark” and would not know if there is a change of power at the federal showed Chong’s intention to exacerbate the State Government.

“If Chong cares a little about Sarawak’s development, he will be aware that the announcement and news on this investment are widely reported on Nov 28, 2017 and this was six months before GE14,” Fazzrudin said in a press statement yesterday.

Hence, according to the facts he believed the state government was not trying to conceal anything. “I advise Chong to stop the blame game but to focus on his ministry to ensure that prices of goods are under control for the benefit of the people,” he said.

Fazzrudin who is also Tupong assemblyman said that such investment practices were adopted by both the PKRSelangor government and the DAPPenang government.

“I challenge Chong to question Lim Guan Eng ’s actions as the Finance Minister to continue the government’s investment policies in private companies. “Also to protest the investment actions by Pakatan Harapan (PH) partners in Selangor and Penang on the same principle before attempting to spread the defamation on the Sarawak state government,” he said.
