MUKAH: The St Peter & St Paul Church celebrated the `Year Care For Creation and Environment Day’ with the planting of trees last Sunday.

The meaningful and symbolical event which involved its Parish Rector, Rev Fr Joseph Sebastian was held after the Sunday mass.

It was staged in conjunction with Sibu Diocese Year Care For Creation in line with `Prayer for Our Earth’ and Pope Francis’ letter.

The event also reflected Pope Francis’ concern to bring the whole human family together to seek a sustainable and integral development for our common home.

Besides Fr Joseph, St Peter & St Paul Church Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) chairman, Dominic Aseng Edal, also planted a tree

during the auspicious occasion which was witnessed by the church members.

As it was the second Sunday after Easter and being declared as Divine Mercy Sunday by the late Pope John Paul II, the priest also led Divine Mercy prayer before the mass.
