MIRI: A team from the Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested a housebreaking suspect at a hotel room in Lopeng near here on Thursday.
The CID team, led by Inspector Nasrul Hadi, laid an ambush on the 27-year-old suspect, who is believed to have broken into a house at Jalan Cahaya in Lopeng on 31 March.
The police seized from the suspect three handphones of different brands, four powerbanks, two units external hard disks, an iPad, several credit and debit cards and cheque books.
Miri deputy police chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed the arrest of the suspect by the CID team.
The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
