SIBU: Illegal dumping of waste materials at Kampung Bahagia Jaya is getting rampant and becoming an eye-sore to the public.

Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) Chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King said the council will hold a cleaning campaign at Kampung Bahagia Jaya Teku on April 7, at 6.30am.

“The campaign will be attended by Assistant Minister of Education and Technological Research, Dr Annuar Rapaee.”

“Residents have been informed to put any bulk refuse they have outside their houses by April 6, for collection.

“Any bulk refuse put outside their houses for collection after the scheduled cleaning campaign will be charged at RM40 per truck,” he said.

Tiong said this during the full council meeting held at SMC office here yesterday.

He explained that a request for bulk refuse disposal can be made by filling the request form obtainable at council’s Public Health and Services Department at Level 20, Wisma Santana, and to be paid at SMC’s UTC counter before removal.
