Club donates recyclable items to PDK Kapit

KAPIT: The Lions Club of Kapit recently launched a campaign to collect recyclable items for the local Community Based Children Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) Kapit.

According to the club president, Ong Hwang Seng the campaign launched last year was to collect recyclable items for the local PDK.

“This is one of our community orientated projects. It’s one of the environmental programmes where we advised our members and members of the public to separate the recyclable items like glass bottles, empty aluminium cans, old newspapers, empty plastic bottles and other recyclable items. Those items are later collected and donated to the PDK,” Ong explained.

In the presence of the club members and PDK stafferss, Ong handed over the recyclable items to the chairperson of PDK Kapit, Moonly Tiang at the centre.

Among those present were Max Wong, Stanley Ling Bee Chong, Ong Hwang Seng, Assistant Director of the Welfare Department Kapit, Peter Gabung and his staffers Azizul, Moonly, Sng Geok Yien, supervisor of PDK Ting Bee Eng and staffers, Ngaji Dukit and Dannie Janin.
