KUCHING: The E-Commerce Transformation Plan or better known as E-Com Y30 was officially launched by Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here yesterday.
The E-Com Y30 is Sarawak Youth Transformation Plan beginning now till year 2030 which will start firstly at the Digital Village in Kuching and will spread to other divisions soon.
E-ComY30 is an initiative to encourage Sarawak youths to become agents of social and economic transformation in their communities through Digital Village. E-Com will include E-communication; E-commerce; and E-community.
E-Com Y30 Framework vision is driving youths to digital economy 2030 and the mission is support Sarawak youths with the right strategy, knowledge, infrastructure, resources and policy towards becoming successful digital economy drivers.
The objective are: Develop rural and urban youths e-Skills, Nurture technopreneurship, Improve Employment of Youths in Digital Sector, Promote Digital Innovation and Creativity, Develop Capability to Enhance Digital Economy and to Provide Policy Support to Empower Youths in the Digital Economy.
The impending challenges and opportunities in the digital age necessitate changes in youth development programmes. This trend will flourish resulting in a surge in demand for digital products and services.
In this context, the E-Com Y30 sets the direction for the State to equip the Sarawak youths with technical and entrepreneurship skills and support. The E-Com Y30 will chart strategies to enhance e-skills, nurture technopreneurship, will create job opportunities as well as promote innovation and creativity among the young people.
