KUCHING: Political secretaries in the State must work together in promoting the party policies on the ground, said Chief Minster Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

According to Johari, with the change in the federal government which is under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), which is the State’s party coalition can become stronger in fighting for the State’s rights.

He said that is why they form Sarawak-based party, which is GPS, and believes the party will become stronger in demanding the rights of the State.

“If we stay in the Barisan Nasional (BN), it will be hard for us to fight for our State’s rights, including the oil and gas.

“Of course, at that adjustment, we have to promote our new party to the graassroots and that is where the State’s political secretaries have to play the role, together with the party visionary, including the people’s representatives and others party members,” said Johari in his speech when attending to the ‘Ramah Tamah Mesra’ programme by the State’s Political Secretary Office, held at a local hotel, yesterday.
