CM retains PBB Satok Chairman post

KUCHING: Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg has retained his position as the Chairman of Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) party. The post was not contested during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the branch held at Pullman Hotel here yesterday.

The party’s Deputy Chairman post were also not contested. Speaking at a press conference held after the AGM, Johari said that he had received a different kind of feedbacks from the members.

“Many were on the digitalisation of the state’s economy and the future of the state. “The feedback came f rom young professionals who are eager to contribute to the development of the state.

“This is what we are looking for and I am glad we have a lot of support from our people, especially the people of Satok,” he said. On Satok’s development, the Chief Minister said that aside from the RM300 million Hikmah Exchange, the road would be expanded first. “The Public Works Department will be undertaking this project starting next year,” he said.
