KUCHING: Chief Minister’s wife Datin Patinggi Dato Juma‘ani Tun Tuanku Bujang yesterday received two courtesy calls at SABATI office in Kuching.

Making the first call was a delegation from the Sarawak Women and Family Development Department (JWKS) led by its director Noriah Ahmad.

The visit was aimed at getting views and ideas to improve the Sumbangsih  Kuih Raya 2018 programme.

This programme involves the distribution of kuih raya to members of the security forces as well as enforcement teams of the country as a way of showing appreciation for their services and sacrfices in defending the country, especially leaving their families and loved ones due to duties during Hari Raya celebrations.

This event is annual programme of the Sarawak State Government since its inception in 1990 by the Women Bureau, known as JKWS since 2015.

Later she received another courtesy call, this time by the Sarawak State Mufti Department led by State Mufti Sahibus Samahah Datu Kipli Yassin. This call was aimed at disclosing the programme pertaining to  ‘Daurah Fiqhiyyah: Fiqhun Nisa’ 2018‘ event to be held on this coming 17 April at Dewan Majma Tuanku  Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Kuching.

At the same time, the call also extended an invitation for the Chief Minister’s wife to be present at the programme as its guest-of-honour.

Daurah is medium of sharing information on current fiqh and hopefully could help to elevate the understanding amongst women pertaining to issues on blood among women.

This programme has become an annual programme for the department since 2016 after a positive response for public members.
