KUCHING: The Malaysian Pepper Board (MPB) threw an MPB Award Ceremony and Pre-Christmas celebration at Penview Hotel here yesterday.

The ceremony was graced by its chairman, Larry Sng Wei Shien with the presence of MPB deputy director general (development) Philip Gaweng, who is also the organising chairman.

During the ceremony, a total of 11 recipients were presented with the Loyal Service Award, a recognition for their dedication and loyalty for working in MPB for 35 years.

The recipients each received cash worth RM1,000, watches worth not more than RM1,000 and certificate of appreciation.

In addition, the Excellence Services Award was presented to 28 recipients who had excelled in carrying out their duty in the year 2017.

The recipients received RM1,000, certificates of Excellence Services, and opportunity and priority to extend their career such as attending courses, seminar or conference that can contribute toward their working performance.

“Congratulations to the recipients, I hope this recognition and appreciation will encourage you to be more productive in delivering quality service and become role model to others,” said Larry.

He added that MPB staff must be committed in their work and responsible to support the government to develop the nation.

“The government is always committed in recognising the excellence work culture, commitment and contribution by the civil servant by providing awards and rewards.

“Sacrifices in time and commitment is needed in every work field either from labour or nation leaders. The most important is the way we decide our time between work and life with family,” he said.
