SAMARAHAN: Samarahan incumbent Rubiah Wang informed that construction works for SK Merdang is already ongoing.

“It started last month and in time. We will check on it from time to time with the Ministry of Education to ensure that the construction process goes smoothly,” she said.

Rubiah said this to reporters during a press conference held at the Institute For Rural Advancement (INFRA) Sarawak Campus here, yesterday.

Caretaker Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who was also present, said the time frame for the construction of schools depends on the number of classrooms to be built.

“Typically, construction usually takes between 18 to 24 months but I am not sure about this project because it is directly under the Ministry of Education,” he explained.

Earlier on, Fadillah and Rubiah had a walkabout at the site of the INFRA Sarawak Campus.
