KUCHING: The continuation of the Pan Borneo Highway project is a game changer for both Sarawak and Sabah.
Member of Parliament (MP) for Petra Jaya, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof appreciated the federal government’s move to continue the Pan Borneo Highway project, as mentioned in the 2019 Budget.
He added that the project would not compromise on the quality and comfortability of the road users during the implementation process of the project.
“This is because the procedures and safety measures of the Pan Borneo Highway project implementation were being followed accordingly, in order to ensure that the implementation of the project is going smoothly.
“The Pan Borneo Highway project is one that must continue as planned for the benefit and comfort of the people,” said Fadilah in a press statement, issued yesterday.
He added that priority also must be given to projects such as upgrading water and electricity infrastructure, road connectivity, and health and education facilities as the people, especially those in the rural areas, are in need of such projects.
Meanwhile, Fadillah said that a total of RM100 million was allocated by the Finance Minister during the tabling of the 2019 Budget, which was a just a fraction of what was announced by the previous government.
