KUCHING: A cashier had a scare of his life when a man armed with a blunt object came into a 24-hour convenience store where he was working and demanded for money at 7.30am yesterday.

The cashier, aged 20, from Batu Kawa said the thin man wearing black pointed the blunt object in his direction and demanded from him the money that was in the cash registration box.

He said there was RM250 inside and he passed the cash to him. The suspect fled on a motorcycle after getting the money.

A day before another 24-hour convenience store cashier was hurt in his back after he and his colleague fled from two robbers armed with samurai swords at Jalan Upland.

Police viewed both CCTV footage and believed that the cases were not committed by the same person.
