MIRI: The formation of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) gives the four component parties a better platform to continue their fight to defend Sarawak’s rights, said Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Youth Chief Michael Tiang.
“For Sarawak, we can work with the federal government but we cannot let it interfere and control us,” he said during the GPS Flag Rally at the Miri Civic Centre on Friday night.
Tiang stressed only Sarawakians were able to decide the future of the state and that nobody except Sarawakians would continue to fight and love the state.
“Sarawakians have only one home here. That is why we believe when we come together in unity under GPS, we can make our dreams come true and make Sarawak a wealthier and developed place,” he pointed out.
“Only through GPS can we lead Sarawak to a new level which we and the world will be proud of.”
Earlier, the GPS members were seen lighting candles as a sign of respect to the late Chief Minister Pehin Sri Adenan Satem who passed away on Jan 11, 2017.
