MIRI: A husband and wife were injured in an accident at Jalan Tanjong Lobang here, yesterday morning.
The victims, in their 50s, were said to be on their way to the city centre from Luak when the accident happened at around 10.30am.
“Upon arriving at the scene of the accident, a car suddenly made a U-turn and the victims who were travelling in a Proton Saga car rammed the vehicle after one of them failed to stop the car on time.
“As a result of the crash, the victims sustained arm and head injuries. The front section of their car was badly damaged as well. The driver of the Toyota car was not unhurt in the incident,” said the sources.
An ambulance was called to the scene and the victims were later taken to Miri Hospital for treatment.
Traffic police were also at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
