Customer’s Day attracts 600 new members

SIBU: The Sarawak State Library Customer’s Day 2017 received an overwhelming response when 600 people registered as library members and a total of 1,095 people participated in the 2-day programmes and activities organised by the library at Wisma Sanyan here, yesterday.

The library’s Customer Day counter which opened from 10 am to 6 pm attracted visitors who lined up for programmes and activities such as Online Database Literacy session, Free Library Membership Promotion, ‘Born To Read’ Programme, Promotion on Makerspace Services: 3D Printing, Code for Kids Training, 3Doodler, and Digital Photography.

The Depository Services Quizzes also received good response when a total of 191 people participated and managed to bring home attractive prizes from the library.

Apart from that, visitors were introduced to demonstrations on Files and Records cleaning, ‘Friends of Archives’ promotion, Legal Deposit awareness, promotion on Sarawak Authors Homepage, Sarawakiana Portal, E-Sarawak Gazette and the Archives and Records Management System (ARMS) website.

Apart from promoting the library services, Sarawak State Library will also open its another branch here. As such, a building brief and a survey on customer needs were conducted yesterday.

The library really appreciated every feedback and suggestions given by the visitors yesterday towards the new branch that will be opening soon.

The visitors who came, registered and renewed their membership yesterday also received exclusive gifts from the library.
