KUCHING: DBKU-Borneo Island emerged as the unexpected champions of Kuching-Lea Sports Centre League 2017 which ended last weekend. The team finished their seven matches with 16 points from five victories, one draw and one defeat.
They overcame nearest rivals, Gedong-Gators who also collected 16 points but lost on goal difference. Both DBKU-Borneo Island & Gedong Gators completed their last match in style last weekend. DBKU-Borneo Island won 5- 0 over Al-Malizia while Gedong Gators defeated Muffa 8-2.
Meanwhile, the third place went to Yayasan Sarawak-Sanjung Etika who collected 15 points from five wins out of seven games.
Satok KSK team finished from four wins and a draw to secure fourth place with 13 points. Punggur Wibawa were fifth with 10 points while Muffa team were sixth . Axis Academy ended in seventh spot with 3 points and Al Malizia were eighth with 2 points.
