MIRI: A lifeless body of a 35-year-old man was found on the driver’s seat of a car at Jalan Perlis, Kuala Baram near here early yesterday morning.

According to a source, the man identified as Bayang Jamban was involved in a self accident a day earlier before his body was discovered yesterday morning. It was believed that the car driven by Bayang had skidded off the road and rammed into a tree.

A team of 10 firefighters, five police personnel, an ambulance from Miri Hospital and personnel from the Miri Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM) were immediately mobilised to the scene 24kms from the city centre following a distress call at 8.05am. Upon arrival at the location, the firefighters immediately extricated Bayang’s remains from the car.

At 5pm on Saturday after returning from his workplace in Riam,Bayang was said to have gone out for a drink at a coffeeshop but never returned.

The car driven by Bayang was spotted by road users who passed by the area yesterday morning.
