KUCHING: A 21-year-old man from Jalan Matang was arrested for suspected drug peddling at a parking lot here last Sunday afternoon.
During a body search on the suspect, a crystalline substance believed to be syabu (a type of drug) weighing about six grams with a market value of RM800 was found with him.
The suspect was taken to Padawan police station and tested positive for drugs. During interrogation, the suspect claimed that the drug was for his own use.
He has no previous conviction. He will be charged under Section 39A (1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act, 1952.
