KUCHING: Two men were brought to the Magistrate’s Court in Bintulu yesterdayto be charged with causing hurt to a 28-year-old man.
The two men aged 24 and 25 who are employees of a money lending company in Bintulu were alleged to have punched the 28-year-old man at 9.20 am last Friday.
According to Sarawak Head of Commercial Crime, Supt. Mustafa Kamal Gani bin Abdullah, no plea was taken from the two men.
The two men were charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34 of the same Code which carry a jail term of up to one year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or
both upon conviction.
The prosecuting officer was Inspector Siti Mariyah Binti Dahari while the case was presided over by Assistant Magistrate Salina Binti Sahrom of Bintulu Magistrate’s Court. The two men represented by lawyer Eric Lau were released on RM2,000 with two sureties.
The case has been fixed for hearing on 24 October.
