“Although it was a brief period for me there were lots of sweet as well as bitter memories which I went through together with the officers and personnel of the Sarawak Police Contingent,” he said. Amer added that he was very satisfied with the service of the contingent. He also said he received full support and cooperation especially from his deputy and all members of the Sarawak Police Contingent. After his successful service in the special branch, Dato’ Sri Amer also held various positions including as district police officer in Johore and Selangor, as head of Crime Investigation Department Johore, as deputy director of State Security Department and finally as Sarawak Police Commissioner.

“Looking at the development of his police career, it cannot be denied that he had rendered his service and had achieved a high career excellence and had been successful in leading the contingent as had been hoped,” Noor Rashid said.
