EduQuest Education Fair attracts 500 students, parents

KUCHING: EduQuest Education Fair, organised by EduQuest Education Fair attracted more than 500 parents and students from secondary schools, colleges, universities as well as SPM, STPM, IGSCE, A-Level and Diploma graduates.

Being one of the largest education fairs in East Malaysia, this education tour started in Sabah from December 1 and the last stop yesterday was held at Hotel Grand Continental here from 1pm to 5pm.

The event was participated by more than 30 institutions from Sarawak, West Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and the UK. This event aimed to provide first-hand information to parents and students to prepare for their studies in 2018.

“Most universities/ colleges are starting their courses in January/ February 2018. At the moment, many parents and students are indecisive on the choice of courses to pursue after the final exams. This is the best platform for them to obtain advice from the representatives of various institutions to see what best suits them.” said Michael Yii, EduQuest’s education manager.

During the event, some participating institutions waivedthe application/ registration fee when students enrolled on the spot. Entrance to the education fair is free.

Among the participating institutions were Executive College, University College of Technology Sarawak, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, Malaysian Institute of Art, Taylor’s University, Study in Australia, SIM Global Education, PTPTN and JobsMalaysia.

Besides that, visitors were able to obtain free advice for more than 100 universities/ colleges in Sarawak, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, UK and US from EduQuest’s counsellors.

Yii added, “Next year will be another challenging year for most parents due to the current economic situation. Hence, institutions are offering attractive scholarships, bursaries and incentives in order to ease parents’ burden in financing their children’s further education. ‘

Since its inception in 2002, EduQuest has helped thousands of students to pursue their dreams, furthering studies in universities and colleges. It is a one stop centre which helps students in admission application, scholarship application, accommodation arrangement, student visa, airport transfer and pre-departure briefing. It has offices in West Malaysia which supports students who are studying in institutions over in West Malaysia.
