KUCHING: Former Stampin MP Julian Tan Kok Ping was accused of being ignorant and did not do his home works when he claimed that the Land and Survey Department is under the jurisdiction of the Local Government and Housing Ministry.
The Land and Survey Department is in fact under the jurisdiction of the Sarawak Ministry of Natural Resources, said Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), Batu Kawa Youth chairman, Chen Tzeum Ling,
Chen added that the former MP did not even know the correct portfolio of the state government and was more interested to get cheap publicity by making fake propaganda.
He said he did not expect any apology from Tan as DAP would not apologise for their wrong doing. Bandar Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen also failed to apologise and even blamed others when he made a mistake over funds allocated for grass cutting, he pointed out.
Works Minister Baru Bian had denied the claim made by Chong that the fund allocated for grass cutting along federal roads had been used up by the contractor. Nevertheless, Chong had kept silent over his wrong allegation.
Chen added the cheap publicity propaganda carried out by Chong and Tan was not uncommon which was only meant to mislead the public.
He urged Tan who is enjoying the remuneration and pension from taxes paid by the people to stop making wrongful accusations.
